Governance

CILIC is governed by elected members of the Executive Council.   They are elected at an Annual General Meeting.  It also has a Board of Trustees who are currently its founders.

The Executive Committee is responsible for CILIC management while the Board of Trustees is responsible for the organisation’s assets and survival.

Day to day running of CILIC is directed by the Executive Director who is answerable to the Executive Committee, on behalf of the Council.

CILIC activities are nationalised and decentralised in that it has District divisional committees and Co-ordinators on voluntary basis.  As of August, 2001 CILIC had the following Sub-Committees in the South – Blantyre, Mulanje, Zomba, Mangochi, Ntaja, Thyolo, Nsanje, Namwera, Balaka. In the Centre – Salima, Dedza, Lilongwe, Nkhotakota, Dowa, Kasungu, and in the North – Mzimba, Nkhatabay, Mzuzu, Rumphi, Karonga and Chitipa.
